This is a cordless hand held canister vac mounted in a stick, with a light weight power head roller brush. The roller brush can not be turned off. It includes a brush and a crevice tool. It also comes with a wall mount or floor mount charging base. The tools fit in the charging base. I haven't noticed that there is any charge complete indication. The charging base gives off a bright blue light when the unit is mounted. This is a waste of electricity and most unwanted. We have bare floors consisting of tile and oak with a few doormats and area rugs. I did about 1000 sq ft of floor, or a bit more, on a single charge. Then dismounted the canister to go handheld into corners, baseboards, windows, cabinet doors. It did the floor and a made a couple of minutes into the detail stuff before running down. I'll have to finish after it recharges. According to the instructions that will be 20 hours or so.The unit seems to have done well on the bare floor surfaces and was easy to control. Although this is by no means a powerhouse, pickup was fast and efficient. Cordless was a great feeling, and the unit got into to tight places nicely. The unit is well balanced and proportioned and solid. Transitioning from bare floor to rugs was nice, just vacuum away. It did fine on one short pile Berber doormat, and also on a thin indoor/outdoor area rug (not really any pile). It seemed bogged down on two Persian style pieces with half inch piles. I wouldn't even consider it on anything shaggy. It has two power levels and I ran it on low. This was adequate for the bare floors. Noise was very reasonable. The vacuum head clicketly clacks a bit on tile, and the roller brush can be heard on the bare wood floor, but all in all very reasonable. No unpleasant high pitched whines, other show stoppers in the noise department.Emptying the dust container was easy and intuitive, as are all of the other features and controls. The dust container will need to be emptied after each major use, but that seems to be the case with all of the sticks.I have tried a few traditional style canister vacs, a couple of full sized uprights, and two other sticks. This is by far the easiest and most convenient and does the job... until the battery goes down, anyway.I guess that's pretty much the bottom line right there: Not enough battery and too long to recharge to thoroughly clean a house in one day. If you don't mind doing it by bits and pieces, or have another unit of some sort for detailing, it would probably work. One the whole I think I am impressed. This unit could my daily first choice, but I would want a full sized unit around for when I needed to do more in a day, or need more power. The other side of the coin is the great easy convenience of this unit and it's fast effective pick-up on bare floors without undue annoyances, and it's competitors do have many undue annoyances. After trying several, I will be keeping this one.
