The best thing about this specific model of the Dirt Devil is that the filter is rinsable. Unlike other vacuums I have had that eventually become clogged because you can only tap out so much dust until finally the vacuum is so clogged that the motor breaks. With this one I wash the filter each time and have even put in the dishwasher! (Though they said not to.)It's the easiest to maintain vacuum I've ever had. If only filters for cars were washable...
