I hate to iron. I think i may own an iron, but haven't plugged it in in years. However, I do like to look neat and my significant other is an airline pilot and needs to look very presentable SO... this was my solution to keeping clothes wrinkle-free. This was actually the second steamer I ordered from Amazon. The first was a Steamfast steamer and the hose cracked after about two uses (see my review there) so I returned it and ordered this steamer as a replacement. It is definitely a bit nicer than the Steamfast, at a slightly higher price point. I like the various levels of bars and clips in order to secure the garment before steaming. With the Steamfast, i found myself holding the item taut with one hand and steaming with the other, which resulted in a few hot fingers and near-burns. I'm still doing a little of that with this steamer, which is probably just me not being careful, but there are more options for securing your article of clothing before steaming away. It also comes with a heat-resistant glove that you can wear on your non-steaming hand to protect yourself from the steam. I havent tried it out yet because it's faster for me to just do it without the glove, but the glove is probably the smarter solution and a nice extra. We use the the steamer for the obvious: dress shirts, pants etc. as well as linen items that tend to look terrible after a few hours of wear. I also frequently steam wool and cashmere items (scarves, sweaters) just to freshen them up and kill any potential moth eggs. I have no idea if this actually works but it seems to work for me and I can't imagine moths surviving the boiling hot steam. The other benefit? It's quick! No waiting for an iron to heat up, hauling out the ironing board, setting it up etc. You just hang your item, flip on the machine, and in less than a minute, it's ready to go. A few passes of the brush over your item and it's wrinkle-free. Note: it works much better if the garment has a little time to 'set' after steaming so do it at least an hour in advance of wearing, or better yet, the night before.I have no idea if this is fully a replacement for an iron and maybe it's not, especially if you like certain creases in your clothing. But for someone who just doesn't iron, it is 100% worth it. I could also do without the pistacho green color of the machine but it's a small complaint overall.
